An important message from the Make Campden Sparkle Committee
Chipping Campden Christmas Market Announcement
It is with great regret that the decision has been made to cancel this year’s Christmas Market.
Huge preparations had been put in place to reduce the risk to stall holders, local businesses, as well as the residents of Chipping Campden from COVID-19.
However, due to the government announcement regarding the new tier system, it was felt that going ahead with the market would breach the recommended guidelines as stated for each tier, as many participants would be attending from the highest tier category. Whilst we understand that it is acceptable for people to travel out of their tier for the purposes of work, it has also been stated that you should NOT travel outside of your tier for non-essential activity.
Refunds will of course be promptly issued to all stall holders, and we whole heartedly apologise for not contacting you prior to a cancellation announcement being made.
Make Campden Sparkle would request that this decision does not divide such a wonderful community as its safety was at the heart of its decision.
Please note the Christmas Market is only a part of the December celebrations and the Light Switch On will still take place on Friday December the 4th at 5pm. This will be live streamed in order that everyone can see this happening from the safety of their homes. The lights have been greatly extended this year with the amazing hard work of our Campden Firefighters and many financial donations. It has been decided to leave these switched on until the end of January in order to light up the town even after the Christmas period.
Thank you for all your support and understanding.

Please note that the indoor market in the Town Hall will still take place on Saturday and Sunday 5th/6th December
(see our Market Dates page for details of all scheduled events).
